Print of Eddy Merckx original illustration by Chris Pasche. Arrival of the 14th stage of the Tour de France, a mountain stage of 170 km between Gap and Mont Ventoux. The yellow jersey Eddy MERCKX, alone in the lead for several kilometers, in sweltering heat, climbed the last painful metres of the ascent of Mont Ventoux. Winning the stage one minute ahead of his compatriots Martin VEN DEN BOSSCHE and Lucien VAN IMPE. He went on to win the tour.
